
Melissa Rosness is Vice President, CMC and Manufacturing at Lenz Therapeutics where she brings over two decades of experience in chemical manufacturing, controls and operations to oversee LENZ’s global CMC activities for manufacturing, testing, release, stability, and supply chain of LENZ products. She oversees the relationship with our manufacture partners, ensuring high quality product control, and is dedicated to driving the success of LENZ Therapeutics commercialization timelines.
Prior to LENZ, she was Senior Director of Operational Excellence and Training at Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services, a global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization. There, she oversaw the site-wide Operational Excellence and Training programs, managed continuous improvement programs, and lead cross-functional teams to implement business solutions and costs savings that resulted in cost savings/cost avoidance of over $1.2 million in a year. Prior to her work at Ajinomoto, Ms. Rosness was Senior Director of Operational Excellence at Ajinomoto Althea, where she was responsible for the San Diego site’s Operational Excellence program and led projects and initiatives to drive sustainable business improvements and cost savings throughout the company. She held numerous positions of increasing responsibility during her nearly 20 years at the company, including: Senior Director of Biologics and Business Processes; Director, Supply Chain and Business Processes; and Association Director of Manufacturing Operations, among others. She started at the company as a research assistant. Ms. Rosness received the Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry with an emphasis on Biochemistry from the University of San Diego. She received her Master of Business Administration from the University of San Diego.
